CHRISTIAN LACROIX Vintage Red Embellished Jacket SIZE FR40 US 8 M

  

Incredibly cute vintage jacket from Christian Lacroix features Lacroix's whimsical tendency with elements including puckered fabric, circular appliques on the sleeves embellished with rhinestones, and wound pink circular buttons. The jacket has a notched collar, small shoulder pads, and closes with five buttons. The puckered fabric is a 55% wool and 45% silk blend with fuzzy squiggles that I finally realized were in a pattern of roses and leaves. The lighter areas of the jacket that look like lace are actually the same fabric as the red, just lightened at the cuffs and front yoke.

The appliqued circles on the sleeves don't match each other (see photos). On the left sleeve, the larger circle appears to be a nice coral or orange color when in fact it is very bright neon - some shade between flamingo pink and orange (photoshop doesn't speak neon). The pink viscose lining is one of Lacroix's "your mind wants to see some kind of map, but it really isn't" prints that appear often on his linings. Labeled French size 40, which is generally equivalent to a US size 8, or Medium. Please refer to the actual measurements for the best guidance regarding fit. Length is 24.5 down center back excluding collar. Excellent pre-owned condition with no apparent flaws.
